OUR ASSISTANCE

Health Education Programs

AIF health programs focus on keeping people healthy. Health programs aim to engage and empower individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviors, and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic disease and other morbidities.

We promote health by developing materials like books, booklets, brochures, and others, use them as a resource to our courses and distribute them to the public. We conduct health campaigns focusing on critical issues such as breast and cervical cancer, mental health, and other prevalent conditions.

Partnership and Collaboration

Many volunteers are opting for remote work. Simultaneously, volunteers are equipped with tools that facilitate their ability to communicate with their sponsors, irrespective of their geographical location and time zone.

We have worked with other organizations, health institutions, and local leaders such as NLA Good Causes Foundation, Derby’s Foundation and Zoucaada Limited to broaden the impact of health and social support initiatives. We engage in joint efforts to increase awareness and enhance the quality of life for underprivileged communities.

Community Engagement

Engagement should be neutral – it is not advocacy work or advocating for a certain view. It opens up the discussion and encourages broad participation. Consider the format for engagement—the methods you choose should reflect your purposes and engagement goals. Afoa Impact Foundation is geared towards organizing community visits and outreach programs to directly support individuals and families in need. We also distribute essential supplies such as food, clothing, and sanitary items to low-income communities and marginalized groups.

Motivational Programs

Whether you have a massive army of volunteers and volunteer management staff, or a handful of volunteers reporting to the founder of the nonprofit, volunteers are one of the most valuable assets.

That is why we at Afoa Impact Foundation do not leave our member behind. We engage our member to hosts seminars and empowerment sessions to encourage individuals, especially the youth, to overcome social challenges.

We also inspire hope and positive thinking through stories, mentorship, and skill-building activities.

POPULAR DONATIONS

The Widowhood Project

In 2022, the foundation visited the widows at Weija Gbawe Communities to donate some items to them in order to make life a better place to live in. In doing this, you make not get the to see the smile you put on their faces but know for sure that all you do everyday has a tremendous impact on their happiness and the health. And we are advocating and working with governments to develop international laws to enhance the rights of widows.

Street Feeding

In December, 2023, we visited the homeless citizen living on the street of Accra Tudu and gave them meal as it was a year-end and everyone deserve to be happy. This did not only provide the physical sustenance we need to survive but it also tethers people to a shared reality when their day-to-day life can be chaotic and haphazard. Sitting and eating a nutritious hot meal and having time to digest food in relaxed, warm, and comfortable setting is something everyone cherishes. For people experiencing homelessness, this need is even greater.

MANDATORY CAMPAIGNS

International Women's Day

Gender equality and empowerment remains a priority for Afoa Impact Foundation – both in our daily activities and volunteering. To drive transformative change, AIF Equality Initiative throughout 2023 and 2024 explored the important progress made and lessons learned over the last few months. We at Afoa Impact Foundation are working with our sponsors and partners to find innovative solutions to help women and girls unleash their human capital and become global and national leaders, entrepreneurs, and agents of change, resilient and inclusive development. Engaging women is key to development.

Women’s economic empowerment in conjunction with girls’ education, family planning, reproductive and sexual health, and reduced child marriage can facilitate the transition of a child life as well as increase resilience. There is more to do, so, together, let us #contribute to gender equality and empowerment today for a more sustainable tomorrow!

Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program

Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Day is a global advocacy platform that brings together non-profits, government agencies, individuals, the private sector and the media to promote good menstrual health. Together, we increase awareness and actions towards our common goal. Poor menstrual hygiene is caused by lack of education, persisting taboos and stigma, limited access to hygienic menstrual products and poor sanitation infrastructure undermines the educational opportunities, health and social status of women and girls around the world. As a result, millions of women and girls are prevented from reaching their full potentials.

On the 16th and 17th June, 2022, Afoa Impact Foundation and NLA Good Causes Foundation paddled our canoe to the Ashanti region of Ghana. We embarked on menstrual hygiene education and donation of sanitary pads in five different schools in the Afigya Sekyere Constituency, Amenase and Bedomase communities. We donated 6 sanitary pads to each and every students and some women in the community. We are grateful to our sponsors for helping us organized the program and also partnering with us to make an impact.
